Country icon Lisa McHugh has announced the release of her new single, ‘High Cotton’.
‘High Cotton’ is the first single to be taken from the Scots Irish star’s forthcoming album, ‘#Country’ (Hash Tag Country), which is coming out at the end of the Summer.
‘High Cotton’ is a song, which was originally released in the 80’s by American country music group, Alabama. Keeping to the Americana roots and adding in her own style, Lisa has truly made the song her own.
It is an exciting time for Lisa’s fans at the moment with the promise of a new album, after her last album, ‘Wildfire’, being such a huge hit and reaching number 7 on the Irish charts. ‘#Country’ will be Lisa’s fifth studio album and is expected to be her best yet, with a string of covers and originals.
Lisa, who has been at the forefront of attracting a new young energetic audience to country music, has named her next album #Country to follow in the modern trend she has created for Country Music – with the genre becoming most popular among 18-25 year olds in Ireland today. ‘#Country’ is anticipated to be a runner for the coveted top spot in the charts on it’s release.
